CoinShares Becomes First Continental European Asset Manager to Secure MiCA Authorization
CoinShares has achieved a regulatory milestone by becoming the first continental European asset manager authorized under the Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) Regulation. France's Autorité des marchés financiers granted the firm's subsidiary a triple license—AIFM, MiFID, and MiCA—enabling seamless investment services across traditional and digital assets in the EU's €33 trillion market.
The authorization addresses a critical gap in Europe's crypto landscape, where many platforms lack institutional-grade licensing. "This is pivotal for CoinShares and the broader European digital asset industry," said CEO Jean-Marie Mognetti. The firm now operates with passported services in eight EU nations, including Germany and Luxembourg, with capacity for full regional expansion.
